Read the story
Samuel Kenga, founder of BECOMING
BECOMING began with a question I could not shake:How do I intentionally raise my son to become a healthy man?

The work became personal before it became a curriculum.

Becoming a father forced me to reflect on my own life, where I was still growing, and what I wished had been more intentionally formed in me as a boy.

I realized I could not simply tell my son what kind of man to become. I had to model it. And the truth is, I am still becoming that man.

My journey into manhood has been shaped by both what I received and what was missing. I grew up without the consistent presence and guidance of my father.

Some lessons came through Scripture, some through mentors, and others through experience and failure. Some of the deepest came through discovering God as Father.

That experience shaped a lifelong commitment to helping others grow and gave BECOMING its central conviction: boys need men who will walk with them on purpose.

YEARS OF INVESTMENT

Across community work, education, and ministry.

Samuel began working with children and youth at 17 as a camp counsellor. He later served as a Child and Youth Worker, music teacher, project manager, Youth Pastor, Creative Pastor, Young Adults Pastor, and Associate Pastor.

Love provides the foundation. Intention gives a boy direction.

I am not approaching fatherhood as someone who has it all figured out. I approach this work as a father still learning, a pastor who has spent years walking with people in their growth, and a man who understands the power of intentional guidance.

Boys need more than love and provision. They need presence, example, wisdom, challenge, and conversation. They need fathers willing to walk with them as they grow.

Time causes boys to grow, but intention shapes who they become.

That is the heart behind BECOMING.
